Sinn 103 St with domed sapphire crystal option case thickness?

  • Dear Forumners,

as I see on this point is the official data controversial.

I'm considering a Sinn 103 St (originally with acrylic crystal) with the domed sapphire crystal option. The acrylic crystal version has a 15.5 mm case height according to factory data. I'm interested in the exact case thickness if the watch has the additional extra of the domed sapphire crystal. According to my best knowledge some forum mates do have this outfit so I ask you to take the exact case height and let me know the data.

Thanks a lot, best regards from beautiful Budapest:

  • The case height goes up to 16,5mm (+1mm).

Thx for the reply! This was my suspition too: among the official Sinn data of the other model 356 the Sa version is 0.7 mm THINNER than the acrylic crystal version, what's more, usually see-through case backs rather add to the height instead of taking height and the 356 Sa version has the see-through case back while the "street version" does not. This is what made me confused. So if I'd order the 103 St with the domed sapphire glass AND the see-through case back of the 103 St Sa the height would go up to 17 mm??? (The 203 St is 16 mm, while the 103 St Sa is 16.5 mm being the only case difference the see-through case back.) I thought I could keep the 103 St relatively thin but - as I got to know now - with the two sapphire options this won't be the case.
Now I have the "normal" 103 St Sa and sometimes I shift for the steel case back just to gain 0.5 mm height and the 16.5 mm seems a bit too high for my wrist. Nevertheless I like so much the 103 St design with the domed crystal, the fine-link bracelet and the lack of the screw at 8 o'clock that maybe I'll give it a try for week-day wear, keeping my 103 St Sa for outdoor events. (On behalf of pusher, one-sided AR treatment and bracelet differences.)

Any other input is kindly welcome - in German too (still having a bad German grammar that's why I write in English).

    MfG Robert
