The newest “team member” in the farm. We didn’t want another dog, but at the end decided that Caramelo should stay.
Caramelo is/was a street dog, which was injured by a car accident. A couple of days he was suffering with a broken front leg in front of Edna’s house, until the neighbors collected money for a surgery. This happened, the poor guy is still limping. Edna, our household manager asked whether the dog could stay for some recovery period at an unused kennel near our farm workers house.

Of course we let him stay and he started to recover.

Unfortunately nobody wants to adopt him, his fate would have been to return to the not to easy street life.

That’s when we said “NO” to it. Before he returns to the harshnesses of a street life, we keep him.

Today we integrated him with the other dogs in front of the house.
So far it worked well. Billy, Chocolate, Dolly, Lassie, Cafe, Toby and Pipoca accepted him without growling or agression.

Since he still is skinny and hungry, we have to keep an eye that he doesn’t approach the other dogs eating near him. That could cause trouble.
All in all, he is a sweet dog.

Du weißt nicht, was Du versäumst. Katzen sind eigenständliche Persönlichkeiten, haben durchaus die Fähigkeit, Zuneigung zu zeigen und bereichern das Leben entsprechend. Wir hatten bis zu 7 Katzen gleichzeitig, es war ein fröhliches und manches Mal turbulentes Miteinander.

Bedingt durch die natürlichen Abgänge in den Katzenhimmel haben wir aktuell nur noch 3 Katzen. Mehr sollen es auch nicht werden.

Dein Merkspruch lautet im Original noch treffender: "Dogs have masters, cats have slaves".
