Good evening everyone.
First of all, please accept my apologies, I have been registered on the forum now since May and only saw AndiS message about introducing myself. I have been quite active on the forum today, learning about a new watch that arrived from Switzerland this morning, and the information I have gathered has been invaluable.
So, a little bit about myself;
I am in my early 50s and have been interested in watches since my 20s. The recent boom in the premium brands left me a little disillusioned, many people became watch officionados just to make a quick buck. I have had many brands over the years and a few Sinn have come and gone over the past couple of decades but the opportunity to buy a NOS box and papers 144 a few years back really piqued my interest in HS era chronos. Since then, I have created a collection of such watches and each of these watches gives me more pleasure than any Rolex, Omega, Panerai etc that ive previously owned. I still have a few 'high-end' watches, but they rarely see light of day as I want to wear something more interesting. Whilst having been aware of this forum for quite some time, many attempts to register had failed, probably due to not understanding the German language and my inability to grasp the potential of Google translate! My desire to learn about these watches eventually led me to succesfully register, and I have spent many hours reading old threads about some of the watches in my watchbox. The one thing I have learned though, is that earlier Sinn watches have a huge amount of variations and anomalies, serial numbers arent a reliable way of dating a watch, but this makes everything all the more interesting. Also, being in the UK creates its own problems when trying to add to my collection. Relatively few watches come up for sale within the UK that are of interest to me. Japan and the EU have a much more plentiful supply but importing them comes with greater costs and some people wont sell to me at all.
So, a quick pic of my Sinn collection. There are a few others but they are either modern references or currently for sale so not really part of my collection. If anyone wants to see any particular watch in more detail, just say and I'll gladly oblige. Also, if you have any information about any of the watches, I'd love to hear it, good or bad. I'm here to learn, afterall.
If you've read this far, then thank you, heres a pic, as promised.
